Dispute Resolution
Dispute resolution has traditionally meant litigation. As a heavily litigation-oriented law firm, Jones Fee routinely practices at all levels of the New Zealand court system.
Our lawyers have significant experience in both first instance trial situations and appellate advocacy. We present each case with the utmost level of professionalism and commitment.
Arbitration
Arbitration is allied with litigation, and is a process that we undertake on a regular basis. We act in:
- Formal arbitrations involving oral hearings
- Less formal arbitrations ("on the papers")
- Cases that extend to international arbitrations, such as those involving the small claims procedures of the London Maritime Arbitrators' Association.
Mediation
Mediation is increasingly used in New Zealand as an alternative means of defining and then settling issues in dispute. Mediation has the advantage of allowing parties to reach a negotiated outcome in a relatively informal and cost effective manner.
Many of our clients have found mediation to be a very successful process, and we have developed a high level of skill in delivering effective mediation that works for them.
