Tanya Wood - Associate
"It's very satisfying to be able to help clients progress technically complex matters."
Tanya graduated from the University of Auckland with an LLB and was admitted as a solicitor in February 2001.
For Tanya law means providing timely advice, and achieving the best possible resolution for the client.
Tanya decided to embark on a career in law based on her interest in English and history at school and law seemed like a natural progression for her. Tanya's grandmother was one of the first women in NZ to obtain a law degree, which no doubt influenced her decision.
Attention to detail, common sense and patience are qualities that Tanya uses to benefit her clients. The feeling that she has made her client’s job easier and or less stressful is one of the reasons why she likes helping people.
Whenever Tanya gets the chance for some spare time, she loves being out on the water, whether it is fishing, diving, water skiing or wakeboarding.
Tanya's background
Tanya's legal career began with three and a half years in property law - ranging from residential conveyancing, small to large subdivision work for corporate and council clients and Public Works Act matters, through to acquisitions and dispositions, debt recovery and mortgagee sales.
Following her passion for litigation, Tanya has spent a number of years involved in leaky building litigation (plaintiff) work, mediations and judical settlement conferences. Her insurance based work also includes professional indemnity claims, employment and education claims.
